The Northumberland Archives at Woodhorn houses a remarkable collection of over 4,500 printer's proofs from William Davison's printing shop in Alnwick.
This eye-catching exhibition showcases this fascinating collection which provides a unique glimpse into the social and economic life of a provincial town and its rural surroundings in the first half of the 19th century. The proofs also vividly illustrate the development of more decorative advertising techniques, making the exhibition a must-see for design fans as well as history buffs.
